Leroy Transfield spent his childhood in New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. He was always creating. Most of his
formal art education was obtained while earning a Bachelor of Fine Art at Brigham Young University-Hawaii under the
tutelage of Jan Fisher. LeRoy's specialty is the figure and he looks to the great masters for answers to his artistic
questions. His mentors are Michelangelo, Rodin, Rembrandt, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Mendelssohn and others.
Highlights of his career include competing in the National Sculpture Competition at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine
Arts in Philadelphia, in 2001 and winning the top prize. He has been sculpting professionally for twelve years and has
created bronze works for monuments, temples and private homes. His work is widely collected and wins awards frequently.
Leroy's dream is to travel the world, sculpting all different cultures in their natural surroundings capturing the uniqueness
and beauty of the human form.
